I worked with a friend of mine a few years back on his condo renovation.  Condos today bring to mind visions of tiny spaces, useless patios and views of more condos.  Dr. Dean Gaber (cosmetic dentist on The W Network's Rags to Red Carpet) was ahead of the curve, buying a unit on the waterfront with huge open rooms, a central patio with view of the lake and potential to be a bachelor's paradise. Dean has incredible design sensibilities and although day jobs as one of Toronto's leading dentists, he's working on his own collection of boutique furnishings and co-designed his Canadian Interiors featured clinics.

We worked together to renovate the key areas, kitchen and bath, new dark hardwood floors, and custom sandblasted glass sliding panels allowing the previously open den to be a true multi-functional space.  Dean's vision was clear from the start, and each Moooi and Kartel piece was a calculated choice.

Custom, open wardrobes were installed matched with the wall colour and in an open L concept, seamlessly blending with the bedroom.  The remarkable and surprising feature of this space, is space!  A solarium off the already large living space, is mirrored on the west side of the patio, by yet another oversized solarium, used now as a bedroom lounge.

The custom kitchen with marble counters, wrapping up to the ceiling is completely open to the dining and living area, creating a space designed to entertain.

We created a 3-sided fireplace, using gel fuel which burns clean and need not be vented.  The limitations condos typically bring, were happy challenges we turned into spectacular design features.

With a guaranteed unobstructed view of the lake, downtown location, and high design finishes it's a no brainer.
