A client referred me to a friend of theirs.  He has a massive house in Cabbagetown, 5000 square feet or so.  It's right in the middle of the action and has a really transitional floor plate.  It's been a mixed use space for the last two owners.  Main and lower levels were commercial, second and third were residential. He is prepping it to put it on the market, and needed some help with his selections and direction for mass appeal.  The building itself is beautiful, oozing with charm and original details.  There are original stone fireplaces on each floor.  Molding and ceiling medallions galore.  There was great discussion on a 6' birdcage  in the front hall.  The cage itself is really gorgeous, the issue is the charlie Brown 80's tile that clads the wall behind it.  There were some aesthetic "enhancements" done back in the 80's that although progressive at the time, are sad and wrong in every way now.

We're painting, replacing the floors, removing all traces of the 60's through 90's and giving an overall cosmetic facelift.   I'm off today to source the light fixtures, an area rug and hardwood to wrap this project up this week.  Have a boo at where it sits now.  I'll post some completed pictures when he puts it on the market.
